1. What is the idea?
The idea is to help the planet, we use oxygen to breathe in and we breathe out carbon dioxide . All leaves make oxygen from carbon dioxide, which is why it is SO important to look after our trees and plants.
So, everyone is welcome to help our planet and get pixels, which are available in 100-pixel 'blocks' (each measuring 10x10 pixels). The homepage is divided into 10,000 of these 100-pixel blocks (1,000,000 pixels in total). The reason for selling them in 100-pixel blocks is because anything smaller would be too small to display anything meaningful.
You can buy as many pixels as you like, when you buy some pixels, you can then display an image/ad/logo of your choice in the space you have purchased. You can also have the image click through to your own website. However, no obscene or offensive images are allowed.
The pixels you buy will be displayed on the homepage permanently. The homepage will not change.

2. Who are you?
Forest Planet is a new organization, we are 3 members, and we want to help planting trees. The world's tropical rainforests are the richest and most diverse habitats on the planet. They contain a wealth of ecosystems and wildlife, with many species yet to be discovered and many species in extinction, so we wanted to help.

3. Are you genuine/is this a joke?
This site was inspired by Alex Tew's very creative " Million Dollar Homepage ". We thought it might be able to help us planting trees and at the same time giving you pixels.
This is not just for one person, this is to help all the people in the entire world.
Like one of greenpeace slogans say: "When the last tree is cut, the last river poisoned, and the last fish dead, we will discover that we can't eat money..."

4. How did you come up with the idea?
We were looking for planting trees. But when we visited Alex's site with this great idea, we thought this could be an opportunity to do it. So how about doing the same thing but shipper. We could help you and help the planet at the same time.

5. Why do you need $100,000 for planting trees?
Each tree has a cost of 4 then we have to take car of them (this means: to water, plagues, animals, bad grass), also we need people to help us plant them. We have to wait till next rainless season. We will upload pictures of the trees, on how we are taking care, till we plant them. So we think $10 is a good price. If everything works ok, we will plant 10,000 trees.

6. Why should I buy your pixels?
Because you will have an image and a link to your site on the homepage of a site that could potentially be seen by millions of people over the coming years. And you'll be helping a good cause.

7. Why can't I buy one single pixel?
We decided that although it would probably be cool if individuals could buy a single pixel each, in practice, it wouldn't so effective. The reason we believe this is because you can't display anything meaningful in one pixel - nor click it easily - so visually, it would be pointless. With thousands of random tiny colored dots all over the place, the homepage would look ghastly.
I also thought that the site would appeal more to people with businesses/websites to advertise than it would to individuals, or to put it more accurately, businesses would pay more to have a meaningful graphic on the homepage. Hence the minimum purchase is $10 per block 10x10.
However! If you really want to own a single pixel, there is always the option of clubbing together with your friends/family/colleagues and buying a 10x10 block.

8. How long will the site be online?
We where thinking of letting the site as many years as possible, but each year we will send down the 10,000 block and put a new one.

9. If you're from Central America , why are you selling the pixels in dollars?
I think US dollars are the closest thing we have to a universal currency on the internet, so it made more sense to do it in dollars.
